Why teach kids coding at an early age?

Learning to code is like teaching your brain to speak to computers. Imagine you have a secret language that only you and your computer understand. When you learn to code, you can create cool things like games, websites, and apps! Teaching kids to code at an early age is important because it helps them learn how to solve problems and think creatively.

Coding is like learning a new language for computers, and it can be fun and exciting. It also helps kids understand how the technology they use every day, like video games and apps, actually works. Plus, learning to code can help kids be ready for future jobs and challenges.

With A Boom in the field of Robotics and AI, learning coding as a skill will not only make you stand out but also give you a headstart. We all know coding and robotics is a mind-boggling skill-set to have, you can directly talk to machines and make them do the task you want.

How day-to-day communication and coding are almost similar?

Coding is similar to talking to your friends, and family, and trying to make them understand or do a task on your behalf by giving them a set of instructions. Apart from communication skills, you need to think logically and reasonably to write code that is efficient and fast.

Suppose if you want to ask your sibling for a glass of water how would you do it?

First, your brain gets a signal that you are thirsty, and then it analyzes that there are two ways to get a glass of water one is by going to the kitchen and the second is by asking your brother or sister. You chose to ask your siblings because you just want to save some energy. Just Kidding! You then request your siblings for a glass of water, you drink it and the task is over.

Similarly for you to make a machine do things you need to choose a coding language that a particular machine understands. According to your requirement, you need to create elements and request the machine to do it on your behalf, and once the task is complete, the program terminates itself.

What are the skills that a child learning coding will gain?

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Coding helps you become an excellent problem-solver. Just like solving puzzles, you figure out how to make things work step by step. It’s like magic!

  • Fun Challenges: When you write code, sometimes it doesn’t work perfectly the first time. But that’s okay! You get to fix it (like a detective) and learn from your mistakes.

  • Superpowers for Life: Knowing how to code gives you special superpowers. You can create your own digital worlds and make things happen with just a few lines of code.

  • Thinking Like a Computer: Computers follow rules, just like games. Coding teaches you how to think logically and break down big problems into smaller parts.

  • Creativity Unleashed: Coding lets you be creative! You can design characters, build virtual cities, or even make dancing robots.

  • Future-Ready: Imagine being a superhero in the future! Many jobs will need coding skills, so learning early gives you a head start.

How will coding help children build a career or future?

Earlier, everyone's resume had Excel, word, and all the Microsoft software as part of their skills. Now it has become so common that the interviewer assumes that you know all these softwares and tools. Similarly, coding software also becoming a major part of today's workforce.

In the future, most jobs will need people to know how to use computers and understand science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). About 80% of these jobs will need coding skills, which means knowing how to tell computers what to do. This is important because so many things we use every day, like phones, cars, and even toys, use computer programs.

Learning these skills now can help kids be ready for these jobs when they grow up. It's like getting a superpower that helps you do amazing things with technology! For example, kids who learn coding can create their own video games, build robots, and even design apps that can help people. Understanding STEM can also help kids invent new gadgets, explore space, and find new ways to protect our planet.

By learning coding and STEM skills, kids can turn their ideas into reality and make the world a better place. Plus, these skills teach them how to think logically and solve problems, which are important for any job. So, starting to learn coding and STEM now means being ready for exciting and important jobs in the future!
